Storyboard Text

  • Lincons wife thought that they shouldn't allow black people inside of the white house when fredrick dougless walked in. Lincoln looked at her in sadness, wanting them to not be friends.
  • Douglass worked as a ship caulker on the baltimore shore. He wanted to leave everyone and sail to freedom from slavery. (when he was young)
  • Lincoln was elected to the house of representatives and douglass called upon him and other congressmen. Douglass teached about the inequality of white and blacks and lincoln learned. This was the beggining of a great friendship.
  • Douglass, lincoln, and John brown all hated slavery. They thought that the man should be able to take care of his family and make a living out of their own land and not be owned by anyone even if they were black. Brown led an attack at the harpers ferry arsenal and gave slaves/blacks weapons to try to make a war and fight back against the rasist whites.
  • Lincoln was elected to be the president by the republicans, but the south knew that if he won, there would be no compromise for the issue of slavery. He eventurally won.
