- Respiration(Animal to Atmosphere)
- I breathe out CO2 through cellular respiration! It returns to the atmosphere!
- Death and Decomposition(Plants / Animals to Soil to Atmosphere)
- Animals excrete waste. Plants and animals die. Both of these processes release CO2 to the atmosphere.
- Death and Fossil Fuels(Plants / Animals to Fossil Fuels to Atmosphere)
- When plants and animals die, they sometimes become fossil fuels, like me. When humans burn these, they release CO2 into the atmosphere. This also happens when trees or logs are burned.
- Ocean Carbon Sink(Atmosphere to Ocean to Atmosphere)
