- Buck and Spitz get into a fight to see who will be leader of the pack. Buck wins , killing Spitz!
- Hans, you leave those dogs alone! I will not let you abuse them anymore! I am taking Buck with me!
- Buck and John Thornton create a close bond with each other. in a short amount of time Buck has finally been able to feel truly loved!
- When Buck returns from his wilderness journey, He finds John Thornton dead. He was attacked by the Yeehat tribe. Buck returns to the wild and becomes the leader of the wolf pack.
