- The English and French had been fighting for dominance and land for numerous years. The French allied with the Algonquins and traded furs. Both England and France wanted to claim the Ohio River Valley, mainly for trade. This is where the French and Indian War really began.

- Claiming it as their land, the French build Fort Duquesne in the Ohio River Valley. Militia from Virginia as well as George Washington come protect the English fort. Washington builds Fort Necessity 40 miles away hoping it will make the French leave the land, but the French and Indians attack their forts, forcing them to go back return Virginia.

- Welcome, everybody, to the Albany Conference. I am Benjamin Franklin, a community leader from Philadelphia. It would be great for the colonies and Iroquois Nation to form an alliance, and you guys can have each other as common defense against the French. How great would it be to have to some support? If you guys don't agree with that, how about the Albany Plan of Union? It is wear the colonies will form a federal government, and you will get to be in charge of Indigenous Peoples relations, raise an army and navy, declare war, and arrange peace treaties. How exciting and powerful is that?!
