- In Chapter 2 Mae tuck goes into town And when she is talking to Angus Tuck she says she has not aged in 87 years which is a hint that they are immortal.

- In Chapter 3 Winnie talks to the toad about running away because she feels like she is in a jail cell.
- "This was not how she had envisioned being kidnapped".
- In Chapter 4 winnie meets the man in the yellow suit.
- I thought i would break my neck and die.
- In chapter 5 winnie runs away and meets jesse while he was drinking from the fountain.
- In chapter 6 Winnie is kidnapped by the tuck's because she tries to drink from the fountain.
- In Chapter 7 The tuck's tell winnie about how they realized they were immortal.
