  • Why he is called "Ghost" and his rough childhood
  • Castle Cranshaw is an ordinary seventh grader who lives with his mom in Glass Manor. Glass Manor is a very poor neighborhood. Castle is very good at running which started when he had to run for his life from his father when he was younger. Castle loves to be active and play basketball and wants to be on a basketball team.
  • The Bullying of Ghost
  • Castle is a seventh grade boy who loves sunflower seeds, to play basketball, and reading Guinness World Record Books. Every day after school he goes to Mr. Charles Store and buys a pack of sunflower seeds for a dollar. He loves sunflower seeds because his father. Castle really wants to make a world record or to break a world record.
  • Castle Races Lu - Shocks Coach Brody w/his speed
  • Around 3 years ago, when Castle's father was still in his life, Castle's father did something to Castle that scared him for life. Castle's dad was an alcoholic. Castle was asleep one night and his mom wakes him up and says "we have to leave!" Castle and his mom begin running down the hall and Castle turns around and sees his dad shooting a gun at him. he realized that he was shooting at THEM.
  • Castle's New Running Shoes
  • Castle gets bullied by Brandon Simmons because of how much money Brandon has and how poor Castle is. Castle gets very mad about the stuff Brandon Simmons says. Castle beat Brandon Simmons up. Due to the fight, Castle is forced leave school early and calls Coach Brody (Otis) to pick him up. When he was with Coach Brody he had to run laps until practice started.
  • One day after Castle had bought his sunflower seeds, he went to the local park where he saw some kids practicing on a track. Coach Brody asked what he was doing there watching the practice. Coach said that Castle could race Lu, especially in the upcoming 100 meter dash. After they raced, Castle and Lu's times were really close. Coach drove Castle home and convinced his mom to let him be on the team because Coach could see he a crazy natural talent for running. Coach Brody was able to recognize this because he, himself is an Olympic medalist track coach. Now Castle was officially on Coach Brody's Defender team for track.
  • When Castle became excited about being recognized for being a fast runner and making it on the Defender's track team, Castle went to the closest sports store after school one day looking for new running shoes, since his were old and falling apart.. He went to where the running shoes were and saw the coolest shoes ever. He asked the employee to get his size and when she brought them back they were a perfect fit. He asked how much they were and they were a lot of money. Too much for him to buy. So, Castle put the shoes in his backpack when the employee wasn't looking and ran out of the store. When Coach Brody found out about and saw how sorrowful Castle was but knee he needed the shoes, he too Castle back to the store where Coach paid for them and made him promise to never to do it again.
