- Once upon a time there was a handsome man who loved fishing. His name is Batara Guru Sahala. One day, he went fishing and he was surprised on what he caught.
- He caught a fish and the fish begged him to set it free. As soon as it was free, it changed into a beautiful woman.
- She attracted Batara Guru so much. He fell inlove with the fish-woman. Batara agreed to keep it a secret and promised not to tell anybody just to marry the woman.

- They were married happily and blessed with two daughters.
- Of course, my precious...
- Please take good care of my lovely daughters.
- One day Batara got very angry at his daughter. He shouted angrily and got the word of fish to his daughters. They were crying. They found their mother and talked to her about it. Batara broke his promise.
- The mother was annoyed. She shouted angrily. Then the earth began to shake . Volcanoes started to erupt. The Earth formed a very big hole. People believed that the big hole became a lake . Then this lake is known as Toba lake.
