- I am going to tell my teacher that I just can't do this work.. its too hard. Maybe I should go back to public school..
- Madison's Teacher shows her a Growth Mindset
- Instead of giving up, let's try harder! I have just started a study group held everyday after school. I would love for you to join.
- Madison usually makes A's and some B's on her school work. Madison scored her first C on a test and is now worried. She just started at this charter school and is already letting her grades slip.
- Madison practices a Growth Mindset
- Madison has decided to tell her teacher that the work at this school is just too hard and that she is hoping to leave the charter school and return to her old public school. She is too scared to put in the extra effort for this new school.
- Madison's Next Test is a Success!
- I new I could do it! Thanks to Ms. Davis' encouragement.
- Madison's teacher encourages her not to give up. She explains that nothing great has ever came without effort.
- Madison has a Growth Mindset!
- Thank you so much Ms. Davis! I now know that when I am struggling all I have to do is try harder!
- Madison takes a leap of faith and decides to join the study group. Her teacher not only provides the curriculum but also test-taking strategies.
- Madison uses all of the strategies her teacher gave her on her next test. She received an A+. She realizes she wouldn't have been able to achieve this grade without Ms. Davis' study group and the extra work she put in.
- Madison now knows that when things get hard for her all she has to do is put forth the extra effort and have a growth mindset instead of a fixed one. The skills Ms. Davis' taught her how to pass her test but the moral of the situation will stick with Madison throughout her life.
