Storyboard Text
- Ponyboy is jumped by the Socs while walking back home from the movie theatres. They cut him under the chin. Darry and the other Greasers come and save Ponyboy.
- The Rumble, a fight between the Greasers and the Socs, occurs. Despite his concussion, Ponyboy still wants to fight in the Rumble because he wants to stand up for his gang and his friends.
- Bob and his Socs friends attack Ponyboy and Johnny. Bob attempts to drown Ponyboy in a fountain. While Bob was drowning Ponyboy, Johnny stabs and kills Bob to protect Ponyboy.
- Because they were scared, they went to Dally's house to ask for supplies like a gun, warm, dry clothes for Pony, and a plan that includes a safe hiding place. Ponyboy and Johnny ran away to a church. They bleached and cut their hair to form a disguise because they didn't want to be caught.
- The church catches on fire while kids where there on a field trip. Johnny and Ponyboy think it was their cigarette that caused the fire so they help rescue the kids.
- While rescuing the kids, a wooden beam from the church building falls on Johnny's back and after a while being at the hospital, Johnny dies. Before he dies, Johnny says, "Stay gold Ponyboy."
