  • On August 24th, 1814, British forces marched into Washington D.C. and set fire to several key buildings including the Capitol building and the White House. Government official, along with president James Madison had to evacuate the city
  • Oh my great days lads we ´outta get of here mates!!! Golly heavens, I sure do miss my tea and crumpets right now!
  • This battle started on September 13th, 1814 at the U.S. Ft. McHenry near Baltimore. The American fort that guarded Baltimore harbor, was bombarded for 27 hours straight. The attack failed, and on the morning of September 14th, the U.S. flag still flew above Ft. McHenry. This inspired Francis Scott Key to write Star Spangled Banner

  • On January 8th, 1815, the British army invaded the city of New Orleans. Andrew Jackson assembled a last-minute militia that included Native Americans, pirates, freed African Americans, and ordinary citizens to defend the city. Jackson won the battle and becomes a war hero.
