  • Exposition- Not an Ordinary Kid
  • Rising Action - Summer Table
  • HI, I´m Summer
  • Rising Action - Jack and Auggie
  • This is after plastic surgery
  • “I know I’m not an ordinary ten-year-old kid. I mean, sure, I do ordinary things. I eat ice cream. I ride my bike. I play ball. I have an Xbox. Stuff like that makes me ordinary. I guess. And I feel ordinary. Inside. But I know ordinary kids don’t make other ordinary kids run away screaming in playgrounds. I know ordinary kids don’t get stared at wherever they go” (Palacio 3).
  • Rising Action- Jack hit Julian
  • Summer decided to sit with Auggie because nobody else would.
  • Climax- Fight in the Woods
  • Leave them alone!
  • “ Second of all, he’s a really cool dude. I mean he's pretty funny. Like, the teacher will say something and August will whisper something funny to me that no one else hears and totally make me crack up. He's also just, overall, a nice kid. Like, he’s easy to hang out with and talk to and stuff” (Palacio 143).
  • Standing Ovation- Resolution
  • Jack is tired of Auggie getting bad--mouthed and punched Julian.
  • “ Yo, dude,” said a new voice behind us. “ What’s up, man?” Eddie spun around and pointed his flashlight toward the voice. For a second, I couldn't believe who it was. “ Leave them alone, dude,” said Amos with Miles and Henry right behind him. “Says who?” said one of the guys with Eddie. “ Just leave him alone, dude,” Amos repeated calmly” (Palacio 267).
  • FREAK!
  • ‘Greatness,’ wrote Beecher, ‘lies not in being strong, but in the right using of strength.... He is the greatest whose strength carries up the most hearts....’” Auggie has all his friends cheering for him.
