Black Lives Matter!

NO JUSTICE

NO PEACE

Going out and seeing others so passionate about change right in front of my eyes restored an ounce of hope from the pounds of it that was lost.

I wanted to do more outside of my home but I understood I still had a voice and that was also useful as well as powerful.

Every chance I got, I researched, educated, shared and spoke up.

Every day, there was more, devastating, racially focused news.

I felt it was my responsibility as a young black woman to keep myself informed no matter how draining.

Everywhere I'd scroll, there were more black men, women and children being treated with disregard as if their life had no significance. And to some, it didn't.

I spent a decent fraction of my days scrolling for entertainment.

This was one of those mornings. The rest of my day was probably going to be spent eating, painting my nails and playing with the dogs like the day before and the day before that.

The difference in today was what showed up on my feed. Police brutality, hatred, blood and cries for equality.

This was not a new reality but the raw detail was a shock and purely heartbreaking.
