Myth of Osiris

- 5 Sphinx Avenue
- I am Osiris, god of underworld and son of Nut and Geb. this is my sister-wife Isis the mother goddess. I ruled over Egypt until one day my brother betrayed and killed me. This is how the story goes...
- When I was crowned king my brother,Seth, became jealous so he snuck into my bedroom. He measured me,being very careful to not wake me up
- The next morning he went to a carpenter and got a beautiful chest made with the measurements of Osiris. That night he threw a party and invited Osiris, they played a game where the first person to fit inside the chest will get to keep it.
- To make it seem like a game Seth's friends climbed into the chest also. Obviously none of them fit so they convinced Osiris to go into the chest. Of course the chest fit him so as soon as Osiris lay down Seth slammed the door shut
- Next Seth and his friends took the chest to the Nile river and pushed it into the current, knowing that there was no way Osiris would survive. Soon Isis found out and rushed to the river to find her husband. When she did find the chest she opened and placed his dead body in the grass and rushed to get his afterlife rituals ready.
- Seth also came that night to make sure Osiris was dead. He saw no sign of the chest so he started looking on ground and found Osiris's body. He cut it up and threw the parts in different places. The next day Isis returned to find the body gone.
