- Hello! I am Henri Matisse and this is my painting, entitled "woman with hat" I painted it in 1905 and in the same year it was exhibited for the first time together with the work of other artists in the Salon d'Autumn

- It was on that occasion that, as a result of my painting, the term "Fauve" began to be used, which can be translated as "fierce" and a new movement in painting began, Fauvism, which was characterized by the use color provocative
- My painting is about my wife Amélie's reato, where you can see bourgeois details like: gloved hand holding a paper fan, the finely crafted hat that gives the painting its title, and yet everything emerges from a garish palette, deranged, defying the rules of academic painting
