- During Mr. Utterson and Mr. Enfield usual walk, Enfield tells him about how he saw Mr. Hyde run over a little girl and then pay all the witnesses with a cheque signed by Dr. Jekyll.
- Utterson notice that the doctor changed his will to leave everything to the infamous Mr. Hyde. worried about Jekyll ask him about his relation with Hyde, thinking he may be blackmailing his friend.
- One year later, Mr. Hyde beats a client of Utterson to death. The police discovered that Hyde left him a note.
- Mr. Utterson visits Jekyll go hands him a note from Hyde, in which he apologized. But Utterson notice that Hyde's handwriting is pretty similar to Jekyll's.
- Poole, Jekyll's butler, concerned visits Mr. Utterson to tell him that Jekyll hasn't left is laboratory in weeks. Both of them worried break in and find Mr. Hyde dead in the floor with Jekyll's clothes and a letter.
- The letter reveals that Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde were the same person, Jekyll found a way of transforming himself into Hyde to maintain his name, but he lost control of the transformations and decided to lock himself for protection.
