  • Just take the jar Sarah!
  • Explore the options
  • Just do it Sarah! It's totally okay. No one will every know!
  • I don't know what to do in this situation! Do I steal the jar? Do I turst her that no one will see? Do I put it back?

  • This is officer Bob, I stopped two girls from stealing at the local grocery store. I gave them a fine of $1000.

  • One Saturday, Chloe and Sarah go to the grocery store together. While at the store, Chloe grabs a jar of candy and tries to get Sarah to steal it. Chloe wants to impress her friend by showing her that she can steal stuff, but another part of her doesn't want to do it.
  • Identify your Values
  • My gut is telling me to put the jar back. I know Chloe won't want to be my friend anymore, but putting the jar back is the right thing to do.
  • I am NOT stealing the jar! I am putting it back because that's the right thing to do!
  • Sarah can trust Chloe that no one will see. She can steal the jar. She can put it back. She can tell Chloe 'No.' She can call the police. She can call her parents. She can tell the cashier.

  • You're a chicken! We are no longer friends!
  • If Sarah was to steal the jar of candy like Chloe asked, they could get a fine or even arrested.H(healthy): It is NOT healthy to give into peer pressure and do something bad just because someone told you too.E (Ethical): It is NOT right to trust Chloe to steal and that no one will see.L (Legal): It is ILLEGAL to steal stuff.P(Parent approval): Sarah's parents would NOT approval of her giving into peer pressure and stealing.
  • Evaluate and Reflect
  • You are grounded young lady!
  • Sarah's ethics and morals show her that what Chloe wants her to do is wrong and not morally right. It is not a good idea for Sarah to trust Chloe, so she puts the jar back.
  • Sarah grabs the jar of candy and puts it back on the shelf. She walks away from Sarah feeling like she did the right thing.
  • Sarah is grounded for a very long time and her and Chloe aren't friends anymore. As Sarah thinks back on the situation, she is thankful she didn't steal the jar.
