- 10:00 archduke spent the morning inspecting troupes, and was about to head over to Sarajevo with is wife Sophie. He was determined to project a friendly image to the citizens there, so he insisted driving there with an open-topped car, plus with only 120 policemen on duty.
- The other assassins were too shocked to react, and the archduke arrived safely. They’re mission had failed. Gavrilo Princip, the man who decided on the assassination, left in defeat, going to buy a cheese sandwich.
- Twelve bystanders were injured because of the explosion. 10:20, the archduke arrived at the city hall, Sarajevo, and was very mad. The news did not travel that fast yet, and the archduke was outraged at the unsuspecting men. After the meeting and speech, Franz Ferdinand insists on visiting the injured, so the loyal count decided to accompany them.
- Going through Appel Quay, the first assassin did not act. The second however, a man named Nedjelko Cabrinovic, threw a bomb at them. At last moment, the archduke Franz Ferdinand saw the grenade and shielded his wife. Luckily, the bomb bounces off a back of a car, with Nadjelko Cabrinovic remembering there was a time limit until the bomb set off.
- Nadjelko Cabrinovic, without seeing in it had worked, proceeded with the plan and after swallowing his poison he jumped into the river. However, the poison he drank was old and only caused him to vomit, plus the river was not deep at all, so he couldn’t drown.
- Gavrilo Princip finished his sandwich, and was now outside the shop. The car was now heading back to Appel Quay, but the chauffeur took a wrong turn and went to Franz-Joseph street, where Princip was.
