- One day there was a baby boy named Oedipusborn to King Laius and Queen Jocasta. The new parents brought their baby to the Oracle. The oracle told them that their babys fate was that he would eventually kill his father and marry his mother.
- The king and queen decided that it would be best if they got rid of their newborn child. They gave to one of the royal servants and told him to hang the baby in a tree by his feet and let the wild beasts take care of the rest.
- The servant could not bring himself to let the defenseless child get devoured by beasts, so he gave the baby (whose name was now Oedipus) to a nearby Shephard. The Shepheard was poor and could not give the child a good life, so he nursed him back to health and gave him to the king and queen of Corinth.
- The king and queen of Corinth adopted and raised Oedipus as their own child, and Oedipus lived a good life in royalty. After many years, Oedipus is told that he is not the king and queen's biological child, so he consults an oracle who tells him the same thing his parents were told when he was a baby. knowing his fate, Oedipus travels to the city of Thebes to try and escape the horrible phrophecy.
- on the way there, Oedipus killed his biological father unknowingly. He also defeated the sphinx which means that he was to marry the kings wife.
- After much searching of why the city of Thebes had a plague, Oedipus finds out that the curse had come true, that he had killed his father and married his mother. After he found this out, he poked his own eyes out and sent himself into exile.
