  • Come in.
  • I think you can do it in this way
  • What I need to do
  • Chris, the main character of this story, is the team leader of the IT Software Development team that practices Rapid Application Development. One day, his presence was requested by the boss to the office to discuss a new feature their client wanted.
  • Why are he doingsomething else that I call him to do
  • The boss explained the feature that the client wanted based on an email that he received from the client. Seeing that Chris was not paying attention, he offered to write down the main points of the feature. Chris, feeling confident, promptly turned down the boss' offer stating that he is listening and can remember the key points.
  • Once they were done with the meeting, Chris proceeded to leave the room. As he left the room, he had some self-doubt about the key feature that was to be added to the program. But because of his arrogance and his overconfidence, he recalled the key feature (incorrectly). After the recall, he was start assign work to his team member.(Types of conflict- This level refers to an internal dispute and involves only one individual. • This'swhat you told me to do
  • NO!! Its not!!!
  • A few weeks later when the assignment is due, Chris proudly presented his work to the boss. During the presentation, the boss was bewildered at how much Chris' work deviated from the original plan.
  • Later that day, Chris and his team members were scolded by the boss because this was not what the boss wanted. But the group members were innocent. They just followed Chris' orders. After that incident, the group members lost their trust in Chris.(Types of conflict- Intragroup conflict refers to a specific kind of conflict that occurs between members of a group that shares common goals, interests or other identifying characteristics. • After the presentation, the boss called Chris into the office and told him that his work was entirely unsaticfied as it did not fit the client's requirements. Chris however insisted that he did it accordingly. This left the boss furious. The boss then whipped out the original email and showed Chris what he should have done. Only then Chris realized that he was at fault. (Type of Conflict shown here is Interpersonal - Interpersonal conflict is the conflict that takes place between individuals.
