- MEETS A GANG OF "THIEVES"
- IS FORCED TO ACCOMPANY DODGER
- FALSELY ACCUSED FOR THEFT
- Oliver is tired and hungry. He keeps wandering in the busy city, Then he meets a boy Dodger who gives him food and brings him to a dirty dark house. Oliver meets a group of strange people - an old man Fagin, scary Bill, a snarling dog, a girl Nancy and other boys.
- TAKEN CARE OF BY MR. BROWNLOW
- Oliver does not like the place, but he has no option. After few days, Fagin tells him to accompany Dodger. They quietly enter a house and when Oliver sees Dodger trying to steal from a gentleman, he realizes that the group is a 'Gang of Thieves''
- GOES TO THE MARKET TO RETURN BOOKS
- The gentleman wakes up and starts shouting 'Stop thief'". Dodger vanishes but Oliver is caught. He says "Please sir, I am not a thief". On seeing Oliver's face, the gentleman looks puzzled.
- GETS CAUGHT BY NANCY ( from the gang )
- The gentleman's name is Mr Brownlow. He brings Oliver to his big house. He realizes that Oliver resembles his niece Agnes, who had a sad life. Oliver starts living in Mr Bownlow's house and is very happy. He goes to school, eats good food and plays games.
- One day, Mr Brownlow gives Oliver some money and asks him to go to the bookstore for some books. Oliver promises to run there and return back soon.
- In the market, Oliver is suddenly caught by Nancy, Bill's friend. Standing closeby, Bill also comes out and drags away Oliver to Fagin's dirty room. Oliver shouts for help, but his mouth is covered by Nancy.
