  • Hey guys, Did you all see the news earlier?
  • Yeah, I saw it. A lot of cases have been going around lately.
  • It's terrifying me! Really.
  • Speaking of that, shouldn't we all get our vaccines?
  • I don't know. I'm scared, actually.
  • Honestly, I feel the same too.
  • Well, are you sure about that? Did you fact-check? There are a lot of people spreading misinformation right now, you know.
  • Plus, I saw a lot of articles online that the vaccine could make us sick, which eventually lead us to death.
  • *footsteps approaching*
  •
  • He most likely overheard us discussing vaccines.
  • What are you doing here, Seb, dear? Did you hear us talking?
  • Some people have been using the internet to scare people with fake information. Geez.
  • And why should we? It's really scary. Have you heard about the guy who got sick after getting the vaccine?
  • I also heard that, the one in the other barangay.
  • Yep, I heard you all. I suggest that we all should get it.
  • Well, do you guys know what a vaccine is? To fully understand why these reactions occur after receiving a vaccine, you must first know how vaccines function.
  • Vaccines imitate the virus or bacteria that causes sickness and cause the body to produce antibodies in response. Once a person is infected with a disease-causing virus or bacteria, these antibodies will protect them. It is only common for a person to have side effects while their body builds immunity. This is why, following a vaccine, you may experience discomfort, swelling, fever, and irritation. It only proves that side effects are minimal compared to the dangers that can appear when a person chooses not to be vaccinated. However, due to underlying health conditions and allergies to some vaccine components, some people cannot be vaccinated even if they want to, but they can still be protected if they live in and amongst others who are vaccinated because the virus will have a difficult time circulating in a community where the majority of the people it encounters are immune. By vaccinating, you are not only protecting yourself, but also people in your community who are not able to get vaccinated. So, if you're able to, get vaccinated as soon as possible.
