Storyboard Text
In 1931 the Japanese blew up the Mekden railway in order for Japan to have an excuse to invade Manchuria for natural resources.
The Chinese appealed to the league, but the Japanese said it was out of self-defense.
The League's officials sailed around the world to Manchuria in order to investigate.
The officials came back a year later in 1932 where they made a detailed and balanced explanation about what happened.
The judgement was very clear that the Japanese had acted unlawfully and that Manchuria should be returned to the Chinese.
Japan planned to invade more of China therefore they resigned from the league.
