- King Charles believed in the divine right of kings. So he did as he pleased and ignored the anger of the common folk. The people also didn't like his favoritism toward the Church of England and how little attention he gave to Protestants.

- The war was fought between the king's supporters, Cavaliers and Parliaments supporters, Roundheads. Due to King Charles I's alienation of the the Puritan lower part of congress and unfair rule the people and Parliament had enough and decided to fight back.

- But why must we go to France father?
- The Roundheads won the war thanks to the military genius Oliver Cromwell. Following the defeat of the Cavaliers Cromwell lost no time in seizing control. He kicked out members of Parliament who didn't support him and had King Charles I executed.

- Now I have to obey laws.

- The monarch was restored after the terrible rule of Oliver Cromwell. Parliament gave the throne to Charles II, son of Charles I. With this came many problems from Charles II who also seemed to favor Catholics. Parliament once again fought against this favoritism until James II took the throne and favored Catholics just like the king before him.

- English nobles invited the Dutch leader, William of Orange to invade England because the kingdom's people wanted change. James II realized the invasion would come and fled with his family. This led to the desertion of soldiers. Which in turn resulted in a glorious revolution little to no blood was shed.
- I imagine a lack of king will not lead to fighting
- Because sweety if we don't go to France, we'll be killed by that bloody Dutch leader William the Orange.

- Now Calvinists won't be unfairly discriminated against
- The English Bill of Rights led the government to be based on the rule of law. Which meant that the not only were the people subjected to the law, but also the monarchs. Which meant the monarchs would have to make decisions that followed the law,
- No more unfair laws!!
