- King Charles l was unpopular because, he didn't want to follow the petition of right ,and wanted to impose more ritual on the church of England.

- The Civil War was between the kings supports the Cavaliers or Royalist; and the parliamentary forces called the Roundheads. The Parliament proved victorious because of there new leader.

- When Charles ll got to the throne he made his beliefs known he didn't like the laws that the parliament passed against Catholics and Puritans. That meant problems for the Parliament.

- With almost no bloodshed the king fled and Parliament offered the throne to William and Mary. They made sure that William and Mary agreed with there rules.
- The English Bill of rights made everyone have equal justice and also put limits on the king and queens power. With this also came the rule of law and a freely elected Parliament.
