  • walking home
  • heading to my room
  • Welcome home!
  • I'm home!
  • seeing a game console
  • What are you doing?
  • Playing a new game!
  • [ 1. One day around 8 years ago at 2:00 pm in the afternoon, I walked home on a windy day from school. It was just a normal day for me, but what happened that day would affect me for the rest of my life.
  • watching my brother play games
  • Wow, can i play?
  • Yeah sure!
  • It took me around 5 minutes until I reached my house. I walked in, set my backpack down and said, “I'm back!” to my mom. I then headed upstairs to my room to sleep since I was tired of being at school all day.]
  • Playing games
  • You're really good!
  • This game is amazing!
  • GO!
  • 2. As I was walking to my room, I saw my older brother Jonathan messing with some cables, I went to go look and I saw he was hooking up a sideways matte black box with stripes streaking across the top of it. I asked, “what is that?”He told me, “It's called a PS3, mom got it for us since we all had good grades”.I responded with “what does it do?”he said” it's something you can play games on.”By the time we finished talking he had already set up the whole thing and hooked it up to the tv.
  • being happy that i started to play games
  • 3. It took around 15 minutes to set up his profile and download the games, so I was just watching him do stuff I didn't know about at the time. After he was done with everything, he started up the game and loaded into a match where he was slaying people back and forth while his character was saying “AC 130 ABOVE!” or “Enemy KIA”. The whole point of the game was to eliminate the opposing team and come out on top of all the other players. The game was called Call of Duty 2. After he died a couple times he asked if I want to play, and I said yes
  • 4. Hetaught me the controls and I went for it. I died around 8 times, but I got the hang of it and got a couple people. I've only ever watched tv shows before but seeing a game like this amazed my little 6-year-old mind. I felt such joy in me playing these games since it was something that was suppose to be fun and engaging as you unlock all the rewards in the game
  • 5. Ever since I've been coming home and playing the game and even to this day I still do. My older brother ended up making me and my younger brother, Joshua, an account. He also got new games that were sequels to the first game I played called Black ops 2, it went from 2 to 3 to 4 then there were sequels and other games that were like it. Some examples are call of duty Modern warfare, Advanced warfare, and call, of duty ghosts. Each of the games had a zombie's mode but I was too scared since it was too realistic, it also showed a lot of gore and there’s was screeching noises as well as every map was super dark and there would be jump scares.6. A couple of years later I was doing good in school and my parents surprised me with the newer version of the PS3 called the PS4 which I still use to this day and will keep on using it. I played all sorts of games like FPS shooters and cartoon adventure games which were fun. I'm still content with the PS4 even though it's outdated compared to the new consoles that have been released. This lesson or experience I learned you could say it would be how new things can change your life for the better and teach you lessons such as teamwork, friendship, and learning new skills.
  • I'm so happy i started playing games!
