- In the month of April in 1764, the British have decide to add the sugar act to tax the colonist on sugar hat as being imported into the colonies. This event took place around the tine te molasses act was ending. Around this time colonial merchants had to pay a tax of 6% per gallon on imported molases. The British realized that the colonist were smuggling goods. They als had to make more money to pay off their massive debt.
- Intolerable Acts

- In the month of March in 1765, the stamp act was passed to impose tax on all paper products in the colonies. The British parliament decided to pass this act because they owed money. The owed money due to their [seven year war. While the congress and colonial assemblies passed resolutions, the colonist made a group called the sons of liberty. And they demanded for everything to benefit them and their new colonies.
- Boston tea Party
- The Boston Massacre took place in march of 1770. This took place on king street. During this time period Americans were rebelling agaisnt the british. the british were passing new laws on taxes. The actual massacre occured because of many angry colonist were insulted by a solider. Thesoldier truk a colonist with their bayonet. And then one thing lead to another and it started a small massacre which left many injuered and some dead.
- Townshend acts
- WE MUST MAKE THEM PAY FOR WHAT THEY DID. THEY CANT LAST A DAY WITHOUT OURS PRODUCTS.
- In the spring of 1774, Parliament passed the Coercive Acts. The Coercive acts were also known as the intolerable acts. These acts were used to punish the colonist in Boston. This included the Boston Port Bill, The government bill, the quartering act and, the administration of justice act. This act took away self governing privileges and rights away from the colonist.
- The Boston tea party took place in December in 1773. This event also took place in griffińs warf in Boston. A couple of colonist dressed as native Americans. They dumped 342 chests of tea into the harbor. This showed Britain that Americans wouldn’t take taxation and any tyranny.
- Parliament placed a tax on glass, paint, oil, lead, paper, and tea. These applied to imports into the North American colonies. They thought that the colonist would have trouble producing everything on their own. They also need to pay off debt from the Seven Year War. This occured in June of 1767.
