  • The tone of this scene is Dramatic because Doodle is Dieing on the ground. Doodle says "please don't leave me"This shows sadness because Doodle is scared.
  • The Author uses a lot of dark words. The word death and dies is used a lot in the story. "one time I showed him the casket telling him we all thought he would die"He used these words to foreshadow you about the story
  • The word Red is repeated a lot in this story. The color red represents death and blood. "It lay on the earth like a broken vase of red flowers. Red shows you what may occur in the story
  • The style of this story is foreshadowing. There is a lot of moments that tell you what may happen in the story. " Red birds are really bad luck". Which foreshadows Doodles death.
  • The Theme of the story is to not let pride take over you. Brother helps Doodle out of selfishness. Because of his selfishness Doodle loses his life
