- A transverse wave is one type of a mechanical wave.
- Umm and whats a medium?
- The medium is the material a mechanical wave travels through.
- Transverse waves move the medium up and down
- The crest is the highest point of the wave and the trough is the lowest
- Transverse waves have resting positions halfway between crests and troughs
- The wavelength is the distance between two corresponding points
- These waves also have amplitude and wavelength. Amplitude is the maximum distance the particles of a medium move

- Light waves, an audience wave, and radio waves are all examples of a transverse wave
