- Hey! I know this pandemic we haven't been able to travel but if I get a chance to, I'd definitely go back to Hong Kong. But can you first help me find how far the plane I'm in is if I'm only one hour away from Philippines to Hong Kong?
- A flight from Philippines to Hong Kong has a distance of 1,322km and is 2 hours away for their takeoff. How far is the flight now if they're 1 hour away?
- Direct Variation
- Step one, since the givens are distance and time then we use those to form an equation therefore, d = kt.
- Step two, we just substitute the value of the distance and time to the equation d = kt. Then multiply k and time and divide both sides by 2 therefore, the value of k will be 661.
- And last step, since we are finding the distance then we only multiply the new value of time and the value of k that we got therefore, our answer for distance is 661.
- Therefore, my flight from Philippines to Hong Kong is about 661km away in an hour! Thanks for coming with me to find an answer to this! Now I know what to do when I encounter this kind of problem, just by using Direct Variation.
