- Scene 1: Meeting The Family
- Hey Simon! Welcome back home! Oh! hello there Aliénor!
- Hey mom and dad! This is finally Aliénor from France! My new girlfriend that you've been hearing about!
- Bonjour!! Bonjour!!
- Scene 2: The Formal Greeting
- Uh?! Aliénor?! What are you doing?? They don't understand this kind of mannerism here in North America!!!
- Scene 3: Confusion And Realization
- *GASP*
- I cannot believe that you let Aliénor do that inappropriate greeting towards you George! Her self awareness is incredibly low!
- I don't understand Sophie! She decided to kiss my cheek! I unexpectedly made it happen, I am just as confused as you are!!!
- Simon comes back from his summer vacation which was spent beautifully overseas in the country of France. He decided to bring along his new girlfriend, "Alinéor" back home to introduce her to his parents. Simon confidently believes that his new girlfriend, "Alinéor" will be on her best behaviour and show them her charm respectfully with the proper norm.
- Scene 4: Confrontation
- HMM??? *Begins shouting aggressively in french*
- My parents are so disrespectful
- What is she speaking in french???
- Oh no!!! This cannot be happening right now!! How did they appear so quickly??
- As Alinéor introduces herself to Simon's father first, she showcases an informal punishment. Which makes Simon's mother not satisfied or happy at all, even a little bit of confusion in the sudden moment. Simon begins to signal his girlfriend Alinéor that it is not a norm in North America specifically to greet people with kisses on the cheek first or at all in any given moment.
- Scene 5: The Shocker
- Alinéor!!! Please communicate nicely with your tone, we don't understand french either!
- *Continues to aggressively shout in french towards her boyfriends parents*
- As Simon's parents begin to bicker and argue about the previous interaction that they both had experienced, they begin to shout even louder at each other in the dining room, which brings attention towards Simon and his girlfriend.
- Scene 6: The Explanation
- Alinéor begins to confront Simons parents by showing her aggression and anger portrayed by shouting at them, as Aliéonors severity of social response is between mild and severe. Her confusion of not understanding why Simons parents are upset with her kind and charming gestures towards them in the previous greetings.
- Simons parents believe that Aliéonor has shown an example of social deviation towards them and have informally punished them throughout the entire time that Aliéonor has spent in their home along with recent interactions inside as well.
- However, Simon understood half of what Aliéonor has expressed in her mother-tongue language, therefore he explains back in english towards his parents of what Aliéonor has been talking about, including why she was so upset and confused with the emotions from Simons parents point of view. He also explains to his parents that kissing on the cheek when you first meet someone or greet someone is the cultural norm back in France.
