- Cooperatives in Development- A solution to many Problems
- What seems to be the problem?
- My farm has a good yield of apples this year however I don't have reach to the markets and all produce is wasted.
- I need to grow more of oranges however without any credit support it is difficult to increase the yield.
- Sikkim is the top producer and exporter of large cardamoms. We need business expertise to increase our profits.
- We need gender equality and regulated organization to foster equal gender income.
- In our village there is unemployment. We need decent jobs, job security and good working conditions for farmer, laborer and office workers.
- For the benefit of the village and the country, a cooperative is a must to tackle poverty and create food security, provide affordable finances, building local expertise and profits, strengthening networks, creating decent jobs and empowering women.
- After a week...
- We should have a Cooperative society which is owned and controlled by the people, to meet our economic, social and cultural needs and aspiration through a jointly owned and a democratically controlled business.
