  • EXPOSITION
  • CONFLICT
  • RISING ACTION
  • At the North Pole, a creature that Victor Frankenstein is chasing is discovered. He runs upon Captain Walton, a scientist who is on an expedition. He hears Victor's life tale.
  • CLIMAX
  • Frankenstein figured out how to make things come to life. He put together a "monster" made of corpse bits from a cemetery and gave it life. He fled from his invention in terror after viewing it. This left the beast on his own.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • The monster looked for love and companionship. He only encountered rejection, though, because of his repulsive personality. The monster sought after his creator in a bitter and angry attempt to get retribution.
  • RESOLUTION
  • The monster makes Frankenstein make him a wife after killing William, Frankenstein's younger brother. As Victor betrays his word, the monster first kills Clerval, a friend of Victor, and then Elizabeth, Victor's wife.
  • Frankenstein follows the monster to the north out of retaliation. He meets Walton and his group in this location. He passes away after telling the group this amazing tale.
  • The monster arrives to pay his last respects and informs Walton that he will burn himself to death. Walton eventually cancels his voyage, in part because the moral of the narrative is that some scientific discoveries are not worth the price.
