Storyboard Text

  • During WW1, German U-Boats patrolled the oceans around Europe and the Atlantic looking for enemy ships to sink. U-Boats would sink ships carrying supplies and eventually Germany announced unrestricted submarine warfare.
  • The Lusitania was a large passenger ship that took off from New York to Liverpool on May 1st 1915. The boat was considered "unsinkable" and carried nearly 2000 people.
  • General, I've received word that the Lusitania is carrying munitions for the British.
  • The Germans believed that the Lusitania held munitions going to help the Allied Powers.
  • SINK IT!
  • German U-Boats approach the vessel.
  • The Germans sink the Lusitania using a torpedo attack.
  • The attack ended up killing 1,198 and leaving 761 survivors including women and children. This will change the landscape of the the war drastically.
