- The messenger says Polybos is dead/isn’t Oedipus’s dad
- The shepherd reveals that the prophecy is true
- "Swinging my club in this right hand I knocked him out of his car, and he rolled on the ground. I killed him. I killed them all."
- Jocasta commits un-alive
- "He has come from Corinth to announce your father’s death!" ... "Polybos is not your father."
- Oedipus blinds himself
- "They say it was Laios’s child; but it is your wife who can tell you about that."
- Oedipus exiles himself
- "The Queen is dead"
- "He struck at his eyes- not once, but many times"
- "Send me from Thebes!" "God grant that I may."
