- Claudia Jones you are hereby arrested because we have found you guilty for violating the Smith Act of 1940.
- Her family migrated to the United States in 1924, they moved to Harlem, New York
- Claudia gets deported

- She joins the Young Communist League, where she becomes involved in defending the Scottsboro Boys and writes on behalf for them as their legal defense

- Claudia was jailed because of her ideology, the Smith Act was a law that stated that it was a criminal offense to advocate or be in any group or society that spoke to violently overthrow the goverment

- Claudia was declared un-American and after several arrests was deported to Britain in 1955.
- In 1957, Claudia and Amy Ashwood Garvey founded the West Indian Gazette.
- Claudia's organization the WIG acts as a sponsor and fundraiser for Londons' first Carnival
