- what sensation am I feeling?...
- It must be hungry.
- DON'T DRINK THAT!!!
- Brock lives in a future where all of the humans live in domes and never leave due to fear of the outside world. Brock has left the dome out of curiosity to explore the supposedly ruined Earth. He relies on a scanner to tell him what he is feeling.
- How is Brog doing.
- Good..
- Brock finds a puppy and what he presumes to be its dead mother. Brock feels sorry for the puppy since he learned about mother in old history stories. People born in the dome don't have mothers since they are born in pods by robots. Brock decides to keep the puppy.
- *Confusion*
- Brock goes to a creek to rest and and eat. Brock carries has food pellets from the dome and gives one to the puppy. The puppy starts drinking the water from the creek to Brock's suprise since Brock thought the water was poisonoius since dome dwellers where touhgt that the outside world is dangerous. Brock calls the puppy Brog.
- The air isn't piosonouis.
- Brock goes back to the dome with Brog. Both getquarantined and are examined from a far. They don't get near Brog in fear that he might be dangerous. Only one other peson is allowed in the quarantine cell and they are the elder scientist.
- Brock over hears the scientist plan to disect Brog so Brock plans an escape. Brock researches on one of the scientist computer deaseses transmitted by dogs and finds out about rabbies. Brock pretends he has rabbies and bites Brogs tail and then brog bites him back in the nose.
- Brock and Brog are expelled from the dome. They go to the creek and drink the water showing that the Earth isn't as dangerous as the dome dwellers make it to be. Brockreminisces about the chance that humans are still alive
