Mr. Hooper enters the meeting house start the day of worship in the Puritan community. Everyone seemed confused of why Mr.Hooper is wearing a black veil which covered his face. When the sermon has ended everyone went to groups and discussed what had happened during the sermon.
Mr.Hooper goes to a funeral for a girl that goes to the meeting house. Everyone still stared at him with a confused look.
After the funeral, Mr. Hooper marries the best-looking couple in Milford. As before, Mr.Hooper wears his black veil. Though there was a beautiful wedding with many colorful boquets, Mr.Hooper still catches everyones attention.#160;
Mr.Hooper continues to live this life. Everyone constantly staring with a confused face. Until he lays on his death bed. He gathers all of his energy to carry himself to sit and explains why he wore this black veil. He taught everyone about secret sin and how everyone has a secret sin that they don't talk about. The black veil represents the sin, Everyone trembled around him but everyone has a secret sin and isn't different from Mr.Hooper who wore the black veil.
