- Oh Diane, if only I could kiss your precious lips once again. You're just like the beautiful sun that rises and takes away the darkness from my life. I don't care what my parents think anymore, I would do anything to see you once again.
- Golly! It's Diane, Should I go up to her? No, I shouldn't. What if she regrets kissing me? What if she thinks I'm some sort of stalker? Dear God, help me!
- Just look! Her eyes light the sky and her beautiful face outshines all of the stars in space. There just ain't nobody better than her in the entire world!
- Oh no something appears to be wrong with her. I've got to hear what she is saying *gets closer and listens* Alas! My bright angle is speaking of me. Do I wait for her to say more? No, I need to answer her!
- My goodness. Why do I feel so conflicted?! Kenneth, why can't the world just let us love. Why does my race prevent me from your embrace?
- We don't have to listen to what the world has to say about our love. Let everyone ease upon us with disgrace, and we can live together in grace.

- But you know, Carol is also a beautiful girl and comes from a very great family. She's the perfect fit for you. And I'm sure Diane is just as wonderful, but the law prohibits any interracial marriages, especially between whites and blacks.

- *Sighs* Okay young man, if ya'll really love each other this much, I'll agree to sign the paperwork to get ya'll married. But I'm only going against the law because I too don't believe that it is right to prevent different races from loving one another. Plus, this could finally be a way to mend the blacks and whites together.

- Just remember, act wisely and slowly, Kenneth, because those who run fast are very likely to fall. So beware what you could possibly be getting yourself into.
