- This lady is giving me a crazy test. I have to make up storys about the pepul in the picturs. But I shud not make up lies. It was silly to me. She got sore and put the picturs away. I gess I faled. I hope they pik me to be smart.
- Setting: Experimental Lab of Dr. Strauss and Dr. Nemur. March 7 1968

- I've had the same surgery as Algernon. Burt, who is in charge of the experimental animals, tells me that Algernon is changing. Yesterday, Algernon bit me. Burt says that he's less cooperative, and he hasn't been eating. Everyone identifies me with Algernon. Everyone is upset about what this may mean.
- I have been given a lab of my own. I have gone with my plans to carry Dr. Strauss and Dr. Nemur's research forward. I've had a cot moved into the lab. I wrote a lette to Dr. Strauss entitled "The Algernon-Gordon Effect". My experiments are completed. I have checked and rechecked my results a dozen times in the hope of finding an error. The results must stand.
- Setting: Experimental Lab. May 29 - June 4, 1965
- Evry body feels sorry at the factery and I dont want that eather so Im going someplace where nobody knows that Charlie Gordon was once a genus and now he cant even reed or rite good. Im going to say goodbye to Miss Kinnian and Dr Strauss and everybody.
- Today I forgot I wasnt in Miss Kinnians class at the adult center. I went in and sat down in my old seat. I told her I was ready for my lesin. She startid to cry and run out of the room. Thats why Im going away to New York for good. I dont want Miss Kinnian to feel sorry for me.
