- Hey! I am Mary
- Hi Mary. I am Jack...
- Mary Monroe and Jack Brown meet on the streets of downtown New York in 2004. They chat for an hour before Jack finally decides to ask Mary to go out with him the next day. She says yes.(Mid/Eye Level Angle & Low-key Lighting)
- Mary and Jack go to a cafe that was in town. They chat for nearly 2 hours and hit it off really well! They share a lot about themselves. Before the date is over, Jack hands Mary a flower. He said he saw it and it immediately reminded him of her.(High Camera Angle / Symbolism-Flower)
- As Mary and Jack are walking out into the parking lot, a swerving car hits Mary. She falls to the ground soon after and Jack is in shock. He calls 911 and they take her to the hospital quickly.(High-Key Lighting / Canted Camera Shot When Mary is Lying On Ground)
- Jack is on his way to the hospital to meet Mary for the first time since the accident. She has been there for about a month and has undergone a total of 12 surgeries. They were all successful.
- *Doctor explains Mary's situation*Mary suffered from server brain damage and many broken bones. 97% of patients who have her conditions don't make it past the first 5 surgeries, but Mary did. The doctor tells Jack that Mary wouldn't go through any surgeries unless she had "my special flower" in the room.
- After being in the hospital for 2 months in total, Mary is finally discharged and able to go home. She had a total of 13 surgeries and a leg amputation. She did great through it all. Even though Jack was pretty much a stranger when this happened, he stuck with her through it all. They plan on getting married within the next 5 years.
