Storyboard Text

  • The red car is moving at a constant speed and in a straight line.
  • The yellow car is also moving at a constant speed and in a straight line.
  • The red car and yellow car don't see each other and are about to collide. Both cars are still moving in a straight line and at a constant speed.
  • The yellow car and the red car crash into each other, but red is still moving. Allowing it the yellow card to push back after the collide. The yellow car is deformed after the collision
  • After the collision, some of the kinetic energy are gone, but the momentum is still conserved
  • So in conclusion, After they collide, but which aredeformed in some ways due to the physical interaction. An inelastic collision is a type ofcollision where this is a loss of kinetic energy, therefore the total kinetic energy of the systemdoes not remain the same. The lost kinetic energy is transformed into thermal energy, soundenergy, and material deformation.
