Charlie is a man that is mentally handicapped. He goes to night school to learn and get smarter.

Charlie wants to be smart and wants to get an operation to be smart. He takes tests with Dr. Nemur and Dr. Strauss to see if he qualify's for the test.

Charlie qualify's for the operation. He gets the operation and is told his I.Q. will be above 200.

Charlie's I.Q. is over 200 but through research he soon figures out that he will lose intelligence just as fast as he got it.

Charlie is losing intelligence very fast and he will soon return to his normal self. He goes back to night school because he is losing his memory.

Charlie is not as smart as he was and he is losing his memory. He wants to leave town and start a new life where nobody knows he was smart.
