  • The Zigzag Road to Rights was about the long, back-and-forth fight to abolish slavery. This text talks about some of the events and laws leading up to slavery being abolished.
  • Brown v.s. Board of Education
  • "What to a Slave is the Fourth of July" is a speech by Fredrick Douglass, a black American who escaped slavery. He was asked to do a speech on the fourth of July, and he talked about how wrong slavery was, and his hopes for slavery being ended in the near future

  • Lincoln's second inaugural address was a speech from lincoln about slavery. At this point in time tension was high between the north and the south, due to different views on slavery. The goal was to avoid war, but neither side would fold.
