- "Have you contacted IT to let them know the system is down? The real time performance report shows that we have no holds in the ER. That can't be right!"
- The system's not down. We really have no holds in the ER. With the new dashboards from Care Logistics, I can easily see where I need to focus to free up beds. I don't feel like I spend all day fighting fires anymore, but I couldn't have done it without Oscar's help.
- Ok. Hey Oscar, Do you agree with Mirna?
- It's true. We started by focusing on our patients with D/C Orders > 2hrs. Mirna let me know which ones were waiting for Transport and which beds she needed most so I could re-prioritize the Transport queue to free up beds on those units first. From there, we escalated the EVS clean priority to get the bed cleaned ASAP.
- "This is incredible! I never thought we'd have 0 holds in the ER on a Friday afternoon. And to think all this information was in the system before, we just couldn't visualize it in a way to take action and improve operations."
- We've got to give Nursing some credit too. Anytime we call or chat with them, they have been quick to respond. I think having all leaders receive the Real Time Performance Report has increased awareness on the house status and improved collaboration.
