KIDS PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION EDUCATION SEGMENT
As you already know, every 4 years a new president is chosen to take care of our Country!
And we always make sure to teach your kids how it works, so strap up the kiddos for a quick learning segment!
6 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY
CC: Reporter 1: The political parties have meetings where they decide who they want to nominate (elect) as their candidate, these are called 'Caucuses' or 'Presidential Primaries'.
CC: Reporter 2: After they select their candidates, the parties look over the requirements to become a Presidential Candidate, everything looks good, so they can keep moving forward.
Presidential Candidate Requirements

CC: Reporter 1: Once each party decides their candidates, a National Convention will take place. Each party holds their own National Convention. At the National Conventions, the parties will introduce their Candidates, and promote their platform. A platform is a selection of ideas by the candidate explaining their goals and changes they wish to make to the country during their term.

CC: Reporter 2: The next step in the process is Campaigning, The campaigning is one of the most important steps in the process, as this is when the Candidate advertises their ideas, and show the people why they should be voting for them. If a candidate fails to campaign they will not receive votes.
