  • Hey there!Let's find out the people's perceptions about the K to 12 Program. Let's go!
  • Neil Jose Omosura, 21Civil Engineering Student
  • Personally, I think K-12 is a good addition to the former basic educational system in ourcountry. It may have had (and still has) several lapses, but given the factthat most countries around the world are having the same or similar educationalprogram can somehow give us an initial insight that it is substantial for our developing standards in the education sector. During its first years in implementation, I found it very unnecessary to add two more years to the once 4-year high school curriculum.
  • However, as I’ve pushed further in senior high school, I came to realize that it actually helped myself be more mature emotionally, mentally, socially, etc. Also, it helps students who are still uncertain of the career they’re going to take to think things even more thoroughly and decide on the best choice that they have. For decades, the Philippines has struggled to grow in all its different aspects. The country’s economy may have seen some progress but it evidently isn’t enough to compete with all the other countries in Southeast Asia and even in Asia. The poverty rate in our country is still behind our neighboring Asian brethren. The wealth distribution is greatly uneven. These things can be traced back to several factors and most certainly, EDUCATION is one of the main reasons for the country’s struggles in its growth. Through K-12 we are given hope for better and more learned Filipino citizens who can work towards a developed and progressive Philippines.
