- Mr. Jones is the owner of Manor Farm. He is always drunk and does not treat the animals very well. Mr.Jones represents Tsar Nicholas 2 of Russia
- Come on, animals! We need to have a meeting.
- Old Major, the boar (pig), had a dream that he wanted to tell the other animals about.
- Mr. Jones went to bed dunk, and forgot to lock all the animals up. All the animals gathered in the barn for a meeting once Mr. Jones went to sleep.
- We need to rebel against humans (Man). Humans are the reason we suffer. We are treated like slaves!
- Comrades (friends), listen to me. I am going to die soon. I need to tell you something very important.
- Man is our enemy! We need to prepare for a war to get rid of Man!

- Three days later, Old Major died, and was buried under a tree
- After Old Majordied,the animals rebelled against Mr.Jones, and drove him out. After the rebellion, 3 pigs called Squaler, Snowball, and Napeleon decided to run Manor farm and rename it to Animal Farm
- After the animals had control over the farm, the 3 pigs set up the seven commandments for the animals to follow:
- 4 legs good, 2 legs bad
