- Major had a important meeting between the animals about a revolution.
- The next day they found Major/leader (the horse)dead.
- During the next three months, there was a lot of secret meetings and activity at Manor Farm.
- The animals called the secret meetings "Animalism".
- The two animals that came up with the name were Snowball and Napolean. They were the pigs who are considered one of the smartest animals .
- In past years , Mr.Jones was both a capable and great farmer. He treated the animals with lots of respect.
- Lately Mr Jones had become irresponsible with the farm and animals. He had recently lost a lot of money in a lawsuit and had started to drink heavily.
- One weekend he went out drinking Saturday night, and did not get back until Sunday afternoon.
- So when he got back he fell asleep on the couch with a newspaper on his head.
- The farmer had not fed the animals all night. The cows got so hungry that one of them broke out the door to the feed shed. All the animals began helping themselves to the feed bins.
- Mr.Jones and his workers went into the store shed and started lashing out at all the animals!!
- The animals joined together and fought back against the farmer and his workers.
- The animals chased the farmer and his workers off the farm.
- Snowball and Napolean changed the sign on the farm from "Manor Farm" to "Animal Farm".

- The animals had control of the farm and got together and created "The Seven Commandments".
