- ITS FREEZING! I should've gotten a jacket. This layer is the coldest layer as you can tell by the way I'm standing. It is called the mesosphere. - Finally I can warm up here. It is getting a little toooooo hot. This layer is called the thermosphere. It is the fourth and hottest layer. The temperature increases with altitude. Molecules move super fast due to the energy from the sun. Density is low here. Pretty Auroras occur in the troposphere.
