- Hi, my name is Michelle and i will be discussing nuclear energy.Nuclear energy comes from the nucleus of an atom. There is a tremendous amount of energy in the bonds that hold the atoms together. We use nuclear energy for electricity, but the energy built up has to release. We also use it for powering our homes and businesses. One advantage of nuclear energy is that it has very little impact on the environment since no burning has to happen. this has less effect than other resources. One disadvantage of nuclear energy is that they do require a lot of water for cooling. If the water is taken from rivers or lakes and put back into the water at a higher temperature it can harm the balance of the ecosystems that live there.
- Hi, my name is Destiny and i will be discussing solar energy. Solar energy comes from energy produced by the sun. The sun is made of hydrogen and helium gases and emits energy through its inner core. We use it for heating buildings and water and to generate electricity. An advantage of solar energy is that it decreases the use of non renewable energy. Non renewable energy can cause harm to the environment. it creates more energy independence. One disadvantage of solar power will not produce during the night, which means that it is not always functional. It can also be limited on cloudy days and during storms.
- I think nuclear energy is better because it has less likelihood to hurt the environment than other nonrenewable resources. i think it is better because nuclear energy is a way to ease global warming and greenhouse gasses.
- I think solar energy is better because it doesn't have a risk in effecting the environment. i think it's better because it is renewable and can be replenished in a short amount of time.
